Lyssa Lovejoy

Evansville, MN

Dance, Visual
Workshops, Teach, Consultant

Raised all over the United States, Lyssa learned her craft at the feet of her father, a well-known, self-taught, American artist.  She studied with various well established artists. Beginning her career at the age of 19, Lyssa cut her teeth on anything she could bite into - art contests, juried shows, murals, and was able to secure a variety of commissions.

Lyssa consumed experience at every opportunity. As a result, she became proficient in many mediums and styles.  From dynamic equestrian scenes to poignant portraits, expressive abstracts and reverent wildlife vignettes, Lyssa’s work often connects viewers to humanity and defines a relationship with nature - both tamed and wild.  Lyssa is also a conservationist and activist.  Her work reaches beyond the studio and into county correctional facilities, supportive trauma-based programs, and schools where she uses art to heal, inspire, and give expression to the inexpressible.

The wildlife artwork she creates is in veneration of each creature and in support of conservation.  Lyssa currently lives and works in Evansville, Minnesota.
