Sharon Trieglaff Jons

Frazee, MN

Visual, Sculpture, Fiber Art, Jewelry, Artisan

The process of gathering, preparing, organizing and problem solving are as much a part of Sharon's art as the resulting piece.

Sharon's work would be described as whimsical and colorful. She likes irregular, texture, spontaneous, 3D, movement and upcycling with thoughtful integration.

In the December 1994  issue of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine, her jewelry was chosen "Best of Show" for the area.

Also, in 1994 she was commissioned by Fairview Foundation, Minneapolis, for an embossed handmade paper piece with their "Generations" ongoing mission.

Sharon was an Artist in Residence at MSUM for several years.

Recycling is nice but as a child, she reused "stuff" for the sheer joy of it. This continues to be a major part of her work.

Trieglaff Jons' history includes interior design, color analysis, handmade paper from fabric which lead to bookbinding. Her work also included sculpture, copper beaded wired jewelry, collaged sweaters and jackets, and recently acrylic painting. Obviously, she likes to change it up now and then.

Sharon loves family, laughter, being on the growing edge and the timeless high that happens while creating.
