I am the author of five books of poetry: Rare Momentum (Red Dragonfly Books, 2006), Bodies of Light (Red Dragonfly Books, 2011), Cloves & Honey (Nodin Press, 2012), Ventriloquy (Tinderbox Editions, 2016). and Course (Tinderbox Editions, 2018). My sixth book, Prairie Midden will be published by Tinderbox Editions in Fall 2021. I co-edited the anthology Rocked by the Waters: Poems of Motherhood, with Margaret Hasse (Nodin Press, 2020).
Bodies of Light was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award and Cloves & Honey was a finalist for the Midwest Book Award. My poems have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, set to music (by Linda Kachelmeier, Libby Larsen, Michael Betz, Mina Esary, and others), and read on the Writer's Almanac.
I teach at the University of Minnesota Morris and have taught workshops for people at many stages in their writing process and at all ages.
I'm interested in collaborating with artists of all kinds, reading poetry (my own and the poetry of others), and sharing the good word about poetry with any audience.
