From an early age I fell in love with clay. It was the medium to work in three dimensions and if you could master clay, you could create anything.
The art that inspires me are the ancient artifacts of cultures from around the world. Observing various cultural artifacts I began taking ideas from my mind and rendering them in physical, ringed reality.
I often wondered who the creators were of the sacred items found in the world. I wondered what these objects meant to the lost civilizations, and how their artifacts instilled life and meaning into their societies.
After creating my own artifacts inspired by forms of various cultures I wanted to bring the objects to life. That is what inspired the illustrations of Toms Adventure. During Tom’s Adventure and encounter with the ancient city the artifacts and their meaning are brought to life.
