My name is Cailey Birchem, and I'm a designer and teaching artist. I earned my A.A.S degree in Communication Art and Design from Alexandria Technical College, followed by a B.A.S in Design with a triple emphasis in Graphic Design, Studio Arts, and Exhibit Design from Bemidji State University. I'm currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a focus in teaching and multidisciplinary design. In the last five years, I have been awarded 12 American Advertising Awards, the MCAD MFA Trustee Fellowship, as well as numerous awards in printmaking and leadership.
I find my passions in the joining of graphic design and everyday interactions between visuals and people to enhance lives. My works serve as a mode of communication whose purpose is not only to visually provoke and enhance thought, but also as a way to provide a method of caretaking through documentation.
