Clarice began rosemaling in 1977 during Community Ed classes in Morris with Enid Grindland, VGM as instructor . Since then she has studied with Norwegian Rosemalers, Sigmund Aarseth, Hans Wold, and Vesterheim Gold Medalists. She received a grant from Lake Region Arts Council and studied the Os style of rosemaling for one year with Trudy Peach, VGM. Other studies have been with Shirley Evenstad,VGM, Marlys Hammer,VGM, Judy Ritger, VGM, Nancy Schmidt,VGM, Ken Magnuson, VGM, Ruth Green, VGM, Pam Ruscinski, VGM and more recently with Andrea Herkert, VGM.
Clarice paints and teaches in the following styles: Telemark, Agder, Rogaland, Os, Valdres, Gudbrandsdal and Hallingdal.
