Jennie Ward grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and earned a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she was awarded the Miles and Shirley Fiterman Full Tuition Scholarship and received the Gamblin Paint Award. Prior to Love Song in the Chaos, her first solo exhibition at Art Project 605, her paintings have been shown in the Minneapolis Skyway, the St. Paul Capital, and in shows at the Ecce Gallery of Fargo, North Dakota. Ward was an Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center, has been featured on Minnesota Public Radio, and profiled in Design & Living Magazine. Her large-scale painting, Coming Home, is in the collection of the Center for Special Surgery in West Fargo, North Dakota. She lives on a farm in Lake Park, Minnesota, with her husband—an art teacher—their two children, and a barnyard-full of animals.
