Kim enjoys all forms of writing. Her content is consistently warm, authentic, family-friendly, and with lots of heart. She has a dozen short stories and poems published in regional anthologies. In her devotional-style Bible study Unraveling Fairly Tales: Learning to Live Happily Ever After, Kim shares insights from her spiritual journey with God (In the Vine Press, 2020). 

In 2018, Kim started writing for children. Her picture book Goat's Boat Won't Float was released in 2024 (The Little Press). Her second story, Doll Trouble, will be released in 2025 (Clavis Publishing). In 2021, Kim won the Ann Whitford Paul Award for the most promising picture book manuscript. She was a #PBParty finalist in 2022 and 2023. Kim was also a finalist in the Great American Think-Off in 2016. She lives in Moorhead, Minnesota, with her husband, Chuck. She has two sons, two stepchildren, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.  

Kim loves sharing her stories with kids and interacting with an audience through learning activities. She strives to ignite a love for reading and using your imagination.
